Three people working at the Tamlite lighting factory in St. Lucie West were rushed to local hospitals after they were somehow shocked with electricity. There was also a small fire inside the building, which is at 660 Northwest Peacock Blvd., firefighters said.
Two people were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals, and one person was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, according to rescue personnel. The names and conditions of the injured were not available at press time.
Part of the same factory, where workers make light bulbs and other lighting equipment, was destroyed in a massive blaze in February that investigators said was electrical. Investigators were not sure how the three people were shocked at the factory or what caused the small fire. Company officials declined to comment.
