HealthSouth Corp. agreed to a $25 million settlement to resolve lawsuits by workers alleging it mismanaged an employee stock option plan by purchasing company shares whose price was inflated by an accounting fraud. Under terms of the accord, HealthSouth, the largest U.S. provider of rehabilitation medicine services, would pay $7 million, and insurers would pay $18 million, the company said. -

State investigors issued 'stop-work' orders at 35 construction sites in Miami because of improper workers' compensation coverage for employees, the Department of Financial Services Division said. The state said investigators made contact with 333 businesses during the two-day sweep, in some cases requesting records to see if proper coverage existed. -
