Jeep Rolls Over, Driver Killed

September 7, 2005

A Lehigh Acres woman was killed after losing control of a 2002 Jeep Liberty that rolled over on Interstate 595 near Davie.

Nancy Lynn Leslie, 54, was driving west between State Road 7 and Florida's Turnpike about 2:20 p.m. when the accident occurred, said Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Bill Ferrell. Her Jeep rolled over several times and landed in a grassy area, he said.

Leslie died at the scene, and two female passengers were taken to Broward General Medical Center in serious condition, Ferrell said. They were: Dyan W. Harris, 45, of Lauderhill, and Donna Bawer, 45, of Lehigh Acres.

Ferrell said investigators were looking for a vehicle that may have sideswiped the Jeep. He said it was a gray or silver 2002 to 2004 Honda. After the accident the driver of the Honda stopped and got out, but drove off, Ferrell said.
