One person died after slamming a small vehicle into the back of a parked Road Ranger tow truck on Interstate 595 in the early morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident happened at about 3 a.m. on I-595 westbound between Florida's Turnpike and Davie Road, said FHP spokesman Lt. Bill Ferrell. -

A pickup truck flipped over several times on Interstate 95 near Sample Road, causing three lane closures because construction equipment was strewn about, state troopers said. About 10:15 a.m., a construction worker swerved to avoid other vehicles and flipped, Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Ferrell said. The driver, who was not identified, was taken to North Broward Medical Center with minor injuries. It took rescue crews about 40 minutes to clear nails, saws, hammers and other equipment from three interstate lanes, Ferrell said. -
