Bicyclist Injured In Accident With SUV

A 42-year-old man was killed early Wednesday while riding his bicycle along U.S. 1 between International Golf Boulevard and state Road 210 after being struck by a woman driving an SUV.

According to reports, the accident happened just after 5:30 a.m. when bicyclist, Robert Herring, was struck. His bike was sent into the median and bags and debris was spread out over the highway.

One northbound lane of U.S. 1 was closed for about an hour while the investigation was conducted by the Florida Highway Patrol and the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
