Two Students Hurt In Bus Accident

Two 11th-graders were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Monday, December 12, after their school bus rear-ended a pickup truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Bus driver Jamie Jones, 43, of Homeland, was headed north on Scott Lake Road at 3:57 p.m. with a bus carrying 22 students.

According to Larry Coggins Jr., spokesman of Florida Highway Patrol, Michael Hall, 34, of Lakeland, was stopped at Scott Lake Road and Fitzgerald Road to make a left turn when he was hit by the bus.

Two students were injured and taken to the hospital. Neither of the drivers were injured.
