2 Teens On School Bus Injured In 3-vehicle Crash

According to the Florida Highway Patrol(FHP), two teenagers sustained minor injuries on Friday, November 4, in an accident involving a school bus and two Pickups.

Sierra Landry, 16, and Brittany Whitney, 15, were hurt. They were among 24 youngsters on a bus involved in the accident, which took place at 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 60 and Turkey Creek Road.

The accident report said an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Brian Pope, 29, of Dover, struck the rear of a Ford F150 driven by Robert Furguson, 47, of Mulberry, FHP troopers said.

The impact pushed Mr. Furguson's Ford F150 into the rear of a stationary school bus driven by Ozetta Thomas, 53, of Plant City.

Mr. Pope of Silverado, Mr. Furguson of Ford F150 and Betty Holder, 40, a passenger in Furguson's truck, were injured also injured.

Patrol officials said Mr. Pope was cited for careless driving.
