A three-car accident kills three people on State Road 200 in Florida.
A Florida Highway Patrol(FHP) report said that Luis M. Gomez, 43, and his wife, Milagros Ong, 29, were killed. Their daughter, Melody Gomez, 6 months, was in a child restraint seat and was not injured.
The driver of a third vehicle, George M. Rideout, 58, 5232 E Live Oak Lane, Inverness, was airlifted to a hospital, but no word on his condition was available.
According to The FHP report, Phillip M. Cox, 29, was driving 1984 Ford pickup north on State Road 200, north of County Road 491, and he was followed by George M. Rideout, 58, 5232 E Live Oak Lane, Inverness.
Mr. Cox crossed the center line and hit Luis M. Gomez, 43, head-on when Mr. Gomez was driving 1995 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle with his wife and 6-month-old daughter.
Mr. Rideout's truck then hit the Gomez's vehicle as it spun around in the roadway.
Mr. Cox and Mr. Gomez died at the scene of accident.
Milagros Ong was airlifted to Shands at the University of Florida at Gainesville, where she died later Sunday.
Mr. Rideout was hurt severely and was flown to a hospital.
