Student Dies In I-95 Accident

Shantrice Noel died in a 1 a.m. accident on Interstate 95 on Friday, December ,9, as she and her friend, Ronisha Robinson, were headed home for the holidays from Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lieutenant Bill Ferrell said that Shantrice Noel took over driving the 1998 Ford sport utility vehicle in Palm Beach County. Her friend's father, Richard Robinson, had driven up to bring the two home.

The SUV drifted into the emergency lane at the Andrews Boulevard overpass near Cypress Creek Road, struck the median divider wall and overturned, Ferrell said.

The Robinsons, of Hollywood, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Broward General Medical Center.
