One Dead And Two Injured In Car Accident

A DeLand woman was killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash early Sunday morning, October 23, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 17 and Lake Winona Road, the Florida Highway Patrol(FHP) said.

According to FHP, Franki Marsh, 46, of Third Court was driving west on Lake Winona Road in her 2000 Nissan Sentra about 12:40 a.m. and did not stop at the intersection of U.S. 17.

Mr. Marsh hit the 2002 Ford F-150 driven by Cretty Hardy, 59, of Astor, police said.

Franki Marsh was declared dead at the scene.

Cretty Hardy's two passengers, Major and Linda Simf of South Carolina, ages 56 and 55 respectively, were injured and taken to Florida Hospital DeLand by ambulance.

Mr. Hardy was not hurt.
