A 37-year-old Groveland man required hospitalization after the van he was driving crashed head-on with another vehicle after that driver failed to stop at a stop sign, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Rogelio Cuevas was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at State Road 33 and Deen Still Road at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, according to the FHP.
Cuevas was driving a 1998 Chevrolet north on SR33 when he collided with Eldridge who was driving a 2000 pickup truck east on Deen Still Road, the FHP said.
Eldridge, 32, of Zephyrhills, was not injured, the report said.
Eldridge is being charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, the report said.
