Both Drivers Killed In S.r. 82 Accident

Two people died when their vehicles crashed on State Road 82 near Corkscrew Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The two deaths bring the total number of people who died on Lee County roads this year to 93.

The driver of a pickup truck, who has not been identified, was heading east on S.R. 82 when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered into the westbound lane shortly before 11 p.m. The truck crossed into the path of a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Benigno Lugo, 29, of Clewiston. Both drivers died. Two other passengers in the Tahoe were seriously injured, FHP reported.
