A man died and a woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Arvida Parkway in Weston after the two reportedly had an argument, a law enforcement official said.
About 7:19 a.m., Broward Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the 2500 block of Jardin Way in Weston, where a man and woman were arguing. Deputies arrived but the couple had left, said Sheriff's Office spokesman Hugh Graf. At 7:32 a.m., Sheriff's Office dispatchers received a call about a two-vehicle crash on Arvida Parkway just east of Weston Hills Boulevard.
Inside the wreckage of a Honda sport utility vehicle, which was almost split in two after hitting a tree in the median, deputies and fire-rescue personnel found the body of the 22-year-old man, Graf said in a release. About 200 feet east, they found a 2004 Cadillac smashed into a light pole. Inside was the injured woman, 21, who was taken to Cleveland Clinic Medical Center and was expected to survive, according to the release.
The man was a Sunrise resident whose name was not released. The woman, of Weston, also was not identified. The crash is under investigation.
